Personal work - it's self explanatory, isn't it?
A guy I know who is a good graphic designer worked for free for a major ad agency here, figuring that it is better to be exploited than be unemployed. After a few months, they said, OK, we are going to give you your own project, and if you do it well, then you can continue working here for free.
